SPITFIRE Mk1 and the mistery of the missing skins
#1

Good day folks:
It is a great day to be an IL2 fan. The mods are incredible. I have longed for a BOB scenerio. Now that all the elements are in place, I have porked my Spit Mk1. The aircraft is there and I can fly it. However, when I put skins in the folder, they dont show up. Not even the outstanding skins that came with the mod show up.
I do have a folder in C/ Program files/UBISOFT/IL2/SKINS/ect.../Spitfire Mk1. I am at ropes end with this one.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this without disturbing the mods. Some help would be greatly apreciated.

I had same problem-and the above is correct :replace the number 1 with an uppercase letter I.Problem solved! By the way Canon's new WIP UK map found here elsewhere is wonderful & there is already a short campaign by Bf-109E called Over the Channel that uses both the map & the Spitfire I.

Previous versions of this spit created a skins folder "SpitfireMk1" in IL2/PaintSchemes/Skins . The latest version (v2.9) creates and now uses the skins folder "SpitfireMkI" . Note "1" then "I". The latest version (2.9) ignores the "Mk1" folder. Just copy your skins from the "Mk1" folder to the new "MkI" folder. After that you can delete the "Mk1" folder since it is no longer used.

Good stuff men. I managed to fix the Spit just as easy as that. However, I cant find Cannon's map for BOB. I loaded the campaign and I am anxious to get the map.

TNX for your big Help.
