hmmm you might be right...

perhaps.... how do we know that the 4.05 server will even run with mods.

We don't, until somebody tries it out.

The 4.05 will run with mods, I tried it out. Just replace the original rts.dll with the QTIM patched one.

That's the result with *all* of the 4.08 sfs's extracted to the 4.05 ded server/with hacked rts.dll.

It throws out errors for all of the added aircraft between the two versions, which is probably fixable.

If you throw the unencrypted java objects classes in there, and the unencrypted 4.08 fmds in the /flightmodels/ directory, it will run without an error.

Won't the errors disappear if you add the files for 4.06 and 4.07? If I understand you correctly, you only added 4.08 files to 4.05, not 4.06 and 4.07.

Im sure he added all the ones up to date. But the Lerch was not in 4.06 only 4.07-4.09 but you could be right.
This is something that will get sorted hopefully.

As I stated, with the 4.08 java objects classes and fmds in there, the errors did disappear

I'm not sure why I would want to use 4.06 and 4.07 files, I used the files from the full 4.08 dedicated server, so the files should be inclusive.

you need to type up a howto to what you did. Im in the same ballpark i just dont know where to look.
Btw i know what Flightmodel folder your talking about. My Question is where does it go ? The root of the Server ? or Files/FlightModels

Are you useing a stock 4.08 with a modded RTS.dll ? or your running a 4.05 with all the 4.08 sfs extracted into the files folder ?

in the root /FlightModels/

Running a stock 4.05 with modded rts.dll and all the 4.08 sfs extracted to the root of it.

You'll get errors on the .fmds and objects files, so you'll need to put those in the appropriate directories.
/whatever your server dir is/com/maddox/il2/objects/whatever missing java classes it throws out errors for.

the problem I'm having is that it doesnt seem to want to accept connections.

Yeh I will look into that. It has something to do with the RTS.dll becuase im running a stock 4.05 atm and i cant connect useing 4.08. It spose to give me a message but it dosent even give me that. Looks like we should look into what it hooks eh ?

ok i am where you were at with the exceptions. I can fix thos in time. I proved my theroy tho and the game wont connect becuase of the RTS.dll so... we need to have a programer that knows dll files inside and out.
