Same here. i've deleted preview version of smokemod. With this new version my game crashes at 5%. i think the conflict is caused by some file from 3do/effects/aircraft folder (i tried to install the mod without folder 'aircraft' and game runs perfectly).

I also got that 5% crash and removing EngineStart1.eff solved the problem.

Hey Fly,
Just flew a 2 hr online session with this and I believe this to be "IT" !!! Smoke effects are great, fire effects are great and no hits on frame rates with my build and I'm using the now "old" 8800gt 512. Best part is no more of the weird black blobs lingering around eating frame rates. Here's a pat on the back for such fortitude to conquer such challenges as this must have been. Thanks so much !!!! Big Grin

Hello,

now I have another problem
The game starts and the effect is really amazing. Heavy black smoke Big Grin .
But after a few seconds there is only white smoke and no more black smoke.
Can someone help me?

...that's what Fly wanted .....

I don t mean the smoke on ground. The smoke behind the flying, burning plane disappears after 2-3 seconds.

Hi

Getting the same problem here. White smoke that only trails 2-3 seconds.

I've nulled all smoke mods (with "-") and have even gone so far as to move those nulled mods into a temporary folder (outside of my IL2 installation) just in case they were still being loaded.

Unfortunately, no joy.

As another member has mentioned, the earlier versions worked fine.

Here in the link below I am just trying to explain why is this happening with removing black smoke plane crashed parts smoke issue completely .
Result ? loss of longer black smoke trail behind plane .
It can't be both ways , one effect or another , I choosed middle of the road a little bit of everything in my mod , yet still easily playable FPS with smaller plane crashed parts black smoke issue 8)

Fly! mod is perfect but short smoke trail behind flying plane is the price to pay .
