[MOD] AI Mod V.17 *UPDATE*

This is epic. Its starting to feel like a completely new sim.

count me in on that sir.

actually i was about to complain that my flight of Emils weren't attacking head on (do not mind since they got all the SBs anyway) but now I see you did it G6 up. It is good that diffrent planes can be made to behave different in such an aspect. good!
since I already had concerns about the Me-262 on that but did not test v14 with them yet.

great work! I can feel the difference.

Confusedhock: , thanks for reminding me, the 262 will currently do this, I forgot to remove it from the list of planes that will perform this maneuver!

I'll take care of it next version.

I think the problem with AI gunners is that they seems to be in that they aim to the pilot head...so when they hit, is always a critical part of the plane like engine or pilot. Maybe making the AI gunners to aim to the whole plane...will get the same amount of hits (which i dont think are innacurate) but with less critical parts of the plane being hit.

Some times i see the AI gunners not shooting at all or shooting at some stupid places. So i think the problem is not in the tracking of the enemy but in the spot they always hit if they hit. Hope you guys undestand my point... (sorry, im not english speaker).

CUJO_1970 Wrote:I think this may be the most important mod of all for offline play.

I second this.

Thank you!

certificate Wrote:I haven't added the headon bomber attack behavior for Tempests, because I was informed that the RAF only used that tactic in one squadron, then quickly abandoned it because of collisions. If you can find me some historical documentation that suggests otherwise, I'd be happy to add it.

I don't know about the Tempest, but I can provide historical documentation that RAF Spitfire Vc squadrons at Malta, in the last half of 1942, used the head-on attack as a policy.
First I have to get home and get my book off the shelf.
The book is "Spitfires over Malta"

rockyalexander Wrote:Well, it seems one of the sound mods was causing the conflict that was giving me so much grief. Now that I have it worked out, all I can say is WOW!!! Certificate, YOU. ARE. THE. MAN! IL2 feels like a whole new sim! Props to you, Brother!!! I'm looking forward to your next update.

Someone can have the same problem , please , can you explain which sound mods interfere with this?

The file are the same writed by certificate :

""Try searching for files named DA920CD60E028A40 and EEBBE344D2C2A05A in your il2 directory. If you see them in places besides the CERT_AI_MOD folder, you're probably experiencing a conflict.""

...or others file;

Are they only in Carrier take off and Nav lights mods or even elsewhere?

For solve the problem need only to add the '-' before the name of the mods or is needed to delete the mods at all?

cheers

SEMPER INCOMMODUS

This mod (The link is inoperative) seemed to be causing a conflict for me. I installed Cert's AI mod into a game copy that contained all the exact same mods, minus the sound mod, and it worked beautifully. Turns out the "nav lights off" mod wasn't conflicting at all, but then again I have the old version which writes the code into the "files" folder, as opposed to extracting to the "MODS" folder as does the most recent "nav lights" version.

certificate Wrote:Confusedhock: Are you sure that you don't have a conflict with one of the files? The Roll roll roll evasive shouldnt even be part of their repetoire at this point.

Checked, no conflict.

And i can certify that the mod is working, because my 109s attack now headon, plus the wingmen attitude. I only experienced the "roll roll roll" when following a zero, yet. But then i have not done that many games, maybe it will happen very seldom.

Thanks and good luck.

Just going to try out your newest, newest version.

It's all good! The more feedback the better -- as long as you guys don't expect it all to be done in one day  .

And this is a historical proceedure, many pilots would persue and pester the enemy to cover for their buds Wink

Certificate, well MY AI are still not hitting the bombe4rs head on but I have to tell you that I've never seen the AI act this way! They chink and dodge and do all that they can to out manuver the enemy, both sides. It's very interesting to watch this because it's like a swarm of mean azz African bees Smile Continue what you're doing because what you're doing is the foundation of the enveloping emersion that's making this game great, thank you...

I'm giving you a little fatty for this one, congratulations ]

RRuger, I haven't added the headon bomber attack behavior for Tempests, because I was informed that the RAF only used that tactic in one squadron, then quickly abandoned it because of collisions. If you can find me some historical documentation that suggests otherwise, I'd be happy to add it!

These are the aicraft that will currently attempt headons: 109G6s and later, all 190s, p51s, p47s, p38s, F4Us, F6Fs, F4Fs, YAK9s.

For the record, I'd much rather have your avatar, than a fat kid dancing

Yeah me too, the fat kid over the.....er, Wink

Well as to the historical thing and the Tempest head on attack. I am not a person that really knows all that there is to know about the tactics and even what the planes did or didn't do in WWII. So that said I'm all about historical AMAP and if it wasn't that way in real life then it's not something we need nor do we want, I am a purest in that way. Have a beer on me and thank you for this mod. BTW the fat kid is an award and I don't give it out freelyWink
As to the avatar, she's available, her name is 'Jenny' 867-5309

Cert, THANK YOU.

I really hate to do this. Like I said thanks more then I can mention for the AI mod. I do have one question is it posseble for you to make the B-25J act as a level bomber. As it is it bugs the heck out of me. I personally would love to see the A20C as level bomber but don't know if it was used that way. I you do this I thank you very much, if not I thank you very much the same you have brethed new life it this sim for me.

OK, I

certificate, any chance of the having the head on tactic random? And also too, could it also apply to ACE in more frequency and for rookie next to nil...?

Question: Is the accuracy of the planes tweakable?? I find, way too often, planes just shoot a hail of constant of fire, and they are maybe an inch from rudder... They do not correct their fire, they just robotically shoot a straight line of bullets and its almost laughable how they always miss...
