I have a P-47N that I am trying to complete. So if anyone wants to help or make the cockpit for it using these beautiful ones, please let me know.

Maybe, especially if this is a new slot plane with moving canopy enabled. If you are very far on this, it might be a good idea to start a thread in WIP beta discussion and describe what you have done.

I will discuss P47 cockpit work here since there is not a new download as yet.

Progress report:
Time allocation:
RL work:75%
Wife's home improvement projects:24%
Modding:1%

However, I have gotten the meshes squared away for the canopy and behind panel areas for the D-10 and D-22. I have been reading up on the proper ranges for the gauges so that they operate as they should. I think I misunderstood how the turbine overspeed light should work and will revisit that. There are hints in the cockpit file that the original intent was to have control of supercharger operation. I suspect it was removed in the FM file before release, but I am curious about it.

PS: My screenshots suck. I have to figure out how to get better resolution

I had promised an updated pit a long time ago, but then I got sidetracked by 3d modeling and started everything from scatch. Well, mostly from scratch, about a third of this version will be credited to the original modeller.I have been debating whether or not to post this work, because it is not finished. Honestly, I was thinking that Freddy would release his P47 cockpits or SOW would be released making this work useless.

This remesh of the cockpit changes the proportions of the cockpit. The effect of this is best seen in the appearance of forward objects in gunsight view. In the original model the armor glass looks much smaller than it should.

I added a new, more detailed canopy, which is slidable.
I have added communications equipment to the right side.
Added a new N3a giunsight.
I have used Taurus' textures where ever possible.
I have been experimenting with the lighting to make things pop a bit more than in previous releases.

Agreed. Would be good to see how the N is progressing.

(Nice work as usual Poncho, always wondered how accurate the readouts were. RHS modelling looks so much more accurate.)

Looks absolutely terrific. I'm hoping that someone is going to fix the windscreen on the bubble canopied Jug, also. There's a flat, bullet proof windscreen there, on the real one that is not there on the IL-2 P-47. Ours just has two straight pieces if metal coming down.
Notice, in the first group of photos, on the first page. Theres a photo titled ,"cockpit panel, wide angle." That shows it perfectly. Please fix that. Please. No matter what you guys do to the cockpit itself, it'll never be 100% correct if that incorrect windscreen isn't overhauled. That's what we are staring at while we're flying, and it's always been (to me) a glaring indication of how wrong the 'pit has been. The little red jettison handle on the right side of the canopy would be a very cool addition, too.
They got it right on the P-51D, but I guess the Thunderbolt suffers from being one of the early entries into the game.

Pooch,

What model P-47 has the problem?
