Smoke texture problem
#1

Hello all Big Grin

I've recently started making smoke textures for my new mod, and I have a big problem.

They just don't show up.
Invisible, I've tried the RGB, greyscale and stuff formats, and everything fails.
I want to replace SmokeMkII and Damagesmoke with it.

Here's a texture if anybody wants to look at it.

Well, I tested your texture and it doesn't work for me either so i saved it in photoshop and it worked fine, i don't know which program you use but there was some kind of error in your texture so i reloaded fixed version Arrow http://files.filefront.com/13428096

I hope this one will work for you.

I am using gimp 2.2.

I didn't had any errors, could you post here, what the error actually said?

Many thanks for fixed version Big Grin

I could open your file in adobe photoshop without any error message, but i guess it has to have some kind of error that the sim can't show it! so i saved it as a new texture and the error was gone! I don't know exactly what kind of error your texture had but after i saved it, i noticed that your file was 14,3kb and mine was 16,0 kb, so maybe your program(gimp 2.2) saves or compress textures incorrectly and you have to adjust the saving or compression options in gimp!

Maybe it was because I saved the TGA as RLE compressed?

Possibly. For example, TGAs used for map making can't be RLE Compressed
