Gapa-Gamma panel utility
#1

This is not a mod. It’s a small utility for adjusting settings of your monitor. Do not affect FPS, and you can use it with the other games too. I have made a preset for IL2 which fits to my machine and my monitor (on F5 button), you can tweak it or make other, whit settings that you prefer.

All credits to maker of this small utility Tomasz Porosinski, his readme file is included.

This is update, with new settings and Avala terrain Light for better look of the ground. More subtle and not so overbright anymore.

This below is old version

1. Extract it anywhere on your computer.
2. Click on icon (that small butterfly)
3. Start IL2 and hit F5 button to enable it.
4. When you don’t want the effect anymore (finished playing IL2 for example) hit F6 button or reset at utility panel.

This is how it looks on my monitor. Visuals can differ from machine to machine.

Very nice mate but why very white ?

Well, it’s not always that white, depending on angle of the Sun, time of the day, and such stuff.

As I said on SimHQ, whole ironic thing is that I have this from 2003, but didn’t figured it how to make it best for IL2 till now.

I suggest that everyone try to make his (or hers) best setting for IL2

Cool, it's a nice little program! Months ago I tried it a few times by adjusting my VC settings but the only thing that happened was a completely messed up screen. So I gave up.
This program works very simple, but I will tweak it because with Avala's settings the sunlit clouds are completely white.

Thanks! Tongue

Lol! I made my own profile and used the N as my hot-key just as a little test. After trying I quit the game and typed in some text in a Word document but couldn't use the N anymore. ??? So advice to to everyone: don't forget to exit this program too otherwise you can't use your assigned key for other functions.

What a great little program. Now I can fine tune my screen for different flying situations without leaving il2. Brilliant!

Thanks Alvala.

That is Canon’s English channel beta map, you must have “Forest=3” in your “conf.ini” file.
