I have the AAA unified installer and patches 1.1.1 installed on my machine, WXP pro. Everything works fine.

My wife is installing the game on her machine, Windows Vista. She has a seperate retail DVD version with its own key. The game installed fine and ran just like it was supposed to with the DVD in the drive. She attempted to install the 4.08m patch and while it was installing the following error popped up:

CRC failed in fb_maps14.SFS

The installation stopped. She then attempted to install the patch again and this time the install completed. Now when launching the game the splash screen comes up and then the launch quits.

Any ideas what is going on? It ran the game with the mods prior to the unified installer. She had deleted everything with the plan of doing a fresh install, patch the game to 4.08m then then install the unified installer 1.1.

Under Vista install the game to c:\Games
not default c:\Program Files

Check the Conf.ini and make sure it's complete.

If not, re run the il2setup.exe to rebuild it.

Also helps if you run the installer as an administrator.
