Hil folks,

I was playing online with my teammates last night and realised I was being attacked by invisible Hurricanes! The player flying the Hurri was listed as in-game but there was no aircraft listed with his name.

All other aircraft were fine-just the Hurri! Could anyone shed light on the problem-is one of my mods?I only use Avala's cockpit mod but cant see how this would affect my game and has been fine in the past.

Help?

i dont now mate never hepened to me try to reinstall the il-2 patch it and try it without the cockpit

Invisible planes happen when people in the same On Line Sesion have different plane sets. So what was happening is that the people flying those Huris had that plane as a MOD, while you didin

Agreed. Same happened to me whilst trying the Me-410 mod, when it was first released (long before UI 1.0 :wink: ).
DF-tested it against a buddy, who didn't have the Me-410 mod and got the same results. Here's my answer to the same question, taken from the "Deutsch" section:

Yes, my friends, this is the reason, why CRT=2 is overdue in the Mod-world... People who still don't know the basics of the game engine - but to be frank, I had to learn this the hard way too, when trying out the (then) new '410 vs. a '109 in a DF melee. Lucky it was against a buddy and we were on TS, so we had the chance to communicate the problem and ponder about on the spot.
There's no object download in Sturmovik (think of the lags, if there were!), only skins get dl'd (if the server allows).
Your game reverts to what it "knows", what's stored locally (on your PC).
If somebody hosts an A/C you don't have installed (stored), you can't see it and if the A/C model uses other weapons but the original tracers, you won't have any damage effect, 'cause your game wouldn't know what to compile, but would show the original tracers, 'cause the engine finds them stored locally. Works the same vice versa. That's it.

They were flying Mk1 Hurricanes and I have the same aircraft-this was not a modded plane. I have had the experience also with the 410 and can understand when people cannot see them because others may not have it installed-but we all have the Mk1 Hurri!??

Still confused - how can the Mk1 be a mod? :?

sadly folks don't stay updated, that is why this happens, the best counter measure for this is to hit the S key from time to time to make sure that you have all the aircraft, if there is a player that shows as not having an aircraft it maybe time for you to come here and find it.

to be honest I don't see a new MKI hurricane. Who was the player in the wonder woman plane?

Sounds like we need to add a pilot to the list of cheaters.

The answer of invisibility is :

1-either you dont have the mod of the plane the player is using
2-either you have the plane too BUT you do not have the COUNTRY the player is using

i mean where you select nationnality if you only have the usual country like :
none
german
finland
usaf
usmc
us navy

and not the new country like :
venezuela
croatia
argentine
peru
israel
syria
irak
iran
etc...

(fo example if the player is playing under PERU country markings and if you do not have the PERU markings (you need a mod that enables multiple new country ).

Well, i play il2 for many years (since il2 first version) and the only invisible plane i met online was in the last 2 years with mod apparition.
And when we checked why it was either a problem of country selcection or a new plane mod not shared by all players.

So i think your statement that this 'will' happen seems to me a bit too strong as for 8 years i (and people i met online) had no problems online.

I was refering to the new countries Balto - if someone selects one of the NEW countries; even if you have that country/that same mod/even if you have that country selected as your own - it WILL happen. Nothing "Strong" in what I said.

There are some Hurri mods floating around out there that aren't from AAA. Maybe you bumped into one of them? :?:
