I Really do think we need to make some sort of Online standard link for new and old members to download from the correct files to play online

that'd be the unified installer 1.1, works with crt=2.
it becomes non-standard when people have only one install of il-2 and add new bits n bobs to it as they are released. not sure if this impacts as long as teh 1.1 files remain intact, like the fm of new aircraft etc.

Does anyone play on 4.08?? Still?
I've been been on 4.09 now for literaly months.. all of our sqn pilots have been exclusively flying on 4.09 servers only.
