[MOD]Forgotten Countries v1.02: 58 nations w/squads&mark
#46

This is Fantastic

I am orignally from Canada but have lived in Australia for many years and now Thailand.

Canada 1951 I think that is when it came out Oh Canada should be easy to find on the net

Australia I'd prefer Waltzing Matilda for the war period.

I'll find out how old the National Thailand song is and see if it's fitting for your project. They play it here over load speakers at 8 am and 6 pm.

I like Bolivia's song.

Hello Sanka, I have had no problems installing the latest version of this superb mod, but I have a problem in the FMB. Basically if I try to select the static Spitfire MK.I and set it for the Blue side I get an error message, when I click to close that the game crashes to desktop, Could this be a problem caused by your mod? Why was I trying to set a MK.I to Blue you may ask? Well the Estonian Air Force was going to purchase some but they were never delivered so I was trying out the markings. The Estonian markings also map strangely on some aircraft. I like the static aircraft you have set for various nations, neat, but the Spanish 109 has a code on the skin and a further one added by the mod, an uncoded scheme would be better.

I am also having to update my Thai and Vichy campaigns, left the markings option turned on, messed up some of the videos and put Thai and French insignia on the skinmod files I put with the campaign. Ah well the price of progress I guess.

Wishing you the very best, Pete. Big Grin

I got it working now, after reinstalling it all...
Some markings indeed do not work, like that of Italy (axis post 1943), or south korea...

Still, great mod, love it!

Okeedokee, hijacked someone elses PC today, can I get past the dreaded web filter?... Yes!

Downloaded, installed, testing.... All working just fine. Anything missing?... No. Ye gods, it looks complete. Has Caldrail lost this battle? Can he find something to whinge about? All right Sanka, you've defeated me this time... Wink

Seriously, great stuff. Smile

Actually the next update of Forgotten Countries, in addition to more countries added, will feature menu musics for every single country, thanks to Cracken's fantastic work. You'll be blown away! :o

Thanks a lot Pete.
Actually I have not checked how the FMB works with the mod, thanks for pointing out the problems with static planes Wink I'll see what I can do.

Strange that some markings aren't working for you... Check if you don't have any other mod dealing with markings, also if you don't have another regiments.ini file in your MODS folder.
BTW, as another user pointed out, it is recommended to use Forgotten Countries with IL-2 running in OpenGL mode. The game was designed to use OpenGL, and it is always recommended to use it over DirectX mod, otherwise you may have graphical glitches.

I've posted a version of the mod for users without the AAA Unified Installer, see first post.
Download only if you don't have the AAA Unified Installer.

The road to perfection is long and tortuous  .

I've found a problem. Everything works correctly, but when flying with the Bf-109E4, this happens to me Cry

I have installed the ultimate cockpit MOD from Freddy and Hunin wing holes solved MOD. I tried wiht several versions of Bf-109 but the problem only appear with the Bf-109E4???

This problem only appear when your fantastic MOD is enabled Cry

Beserker, the mod works with Freddy's cockpits, so this appears to be a conflict with Hunin's mod.
It's easily fixed: copy all the files from "3do\Plane\Bf-109E-4" in Hunin's mod and paste them into those 4 folders inside "MODS\Forgotten_Countries\3do\Plane":
Bf-109E-4(bg)
Bf-109E-4(bl)
Bf-109E-4(ch)
Bf-109E-4(sp)
Overwrite all files EXCEPT the "summer" folder.
Thanks for noticing it, it'll be fixed in the next release. Wink

Many thanks for your quick response sanka.

But in the Hunin MOD (at least in the version that I have) there is no folder called "3DO \ Plane \ Bf-109E-4" :? :?

OK never mind my last post, it's a matter of class files. I'll work on a fix. For the moment, disable the file called "E1D669FC512B93CE" either HunInTheSun's AHS folder or in the Forgotten_Countries folder (but then you won't have the new default skins for Bf-109E4's).

I installed this mod right after I installed UI 1.1, so no other mods are there,.. It all works now, only some countries show no markings, just white patches, and no markings are shown on any of the Spitfire's.

Open the "conf.ini" file in your main 1946 folder, and check the line under [GLPROVIDER] It should be GL=Opengl32.dll. If not, change it.

Thanks for the response Sanka, not sure if the problems I experienced are to do with your mod or something in my set up, but if you get the same problem we may find a solution.

All the best, Pete. Big Grin
