You did not convert the textures into 8bit (only 256 colors). This whould reduce the size of the texture without going down with the texture quality because the flaggs only have a few colors.

So is it possible to change the flag 'skin' so it carries a squadron marking rather than country?

Looking forward to trying this....maybe the wind socks are next?

I mentioned this possibility a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, and nothing became of it, but now.....

The most important use in flag animation in terms of the period represented by IL-2 would be wind socks for each airfield. Clearly the ideal would be to find a way to integrate the animated wind sock with the wind mod - as wind direction was (is???) the normal(I believe) way of determining the correct landing pattern on fields of the day.

I hope some enterprising person will brainstorm over this.
