Hi all, hope everyone's enjoying their weekend..
I'll try to makle this as short as possible. After happily running UI1.0 for some time now, I've eventually gone and done a fresh install with UI1.1. From the outset, I've had some issues that are worrying me.
In the initial install, one of the rar files was corrupt. I identified it and replaced it with a good one. Right. Straight UI 1.1 install, onto a fresh version of 4.08m. The first issue I had was that there was no 6DOF working at all. I tried every option avaialble - nothing worked.
Eventually, another member helped me out by sending me his folder that worked(after he encountered the same issues with his install), a folder called XY from the 6DOF mouse download here at AAA. The folder has 3 files: 6EABC2640E2C18C4, 65A9E2D846D578F2 and AED23A24CF06FFE0.
With this folder in my MODS folder, the 6DOF works.
At this stage, I have no other mods. It's stock UI1.1, with the language fix and RAF ranks fix.
Oh, also the UI1.1.1 patch.
Still, a few things are worrying me. I no longer have the switch files EAX_ON, EAX_OFF, MkII_Gyro_On and MkII_Gyro_Off with this UI1.1 install. Is this correct?
Are they noit meant to be in the UI1.1?
Ok, so the first mod I tried to add, was the AAA_PAT_smoke and Camera mod.
Installed easily enough, but it doesn't seem to work properly. I can cycle through the new views with the F8 key, but the tilt/rotate camera function that is normally enabled with F9 doesn't have any effect. So, basically it doesn't have that function...
The reason I'm quite frustrated at this point, is that we are meant to be using the UI1.1 to provide a stable platform for future mods from this site. Right? Or wrong?
Either way, that's what I was hoping for from the UI1.1.
How do I know whats gone wrong from the straight install?
Is the XY folder somehow causing the PAT camera not to work? There don't seem to be any conflicting files...
I really would like to get this sorted, if I don't have faith that my 'base install' is right, how am I going to go further down the modding road....
Thanks in advance for any assisitance... 8)
