White Phosphorus

Anyone willing to make a WP bomb/rocket loadout? They would be great for spotting.

I realize Weapon Mods are a No-No for existing loadouts. Perhaps this could be used for upcoming releases (late war US and Korean War era birds)

The Swordfish Beta has white phosphorous flares, and the Mosquito Mk.XVI that comes with the UI has another type coming in different colours to mark targets on the ground. Try these out, they're very good.

Cheers

Yes, indeed.

Neither can be used as weapons though like Willy Peter.

I have made 500lbs Incendiary Clusters M22-23 and M10A1 and 100lbs Incendiary Bombs M47A2 (meshes and java files) for the new slots Korean Corsair mods that I have uploaded for beta-testing at Histomod - the final versions of the F4U-4, F4U-4B and F4U-5 & 5N will be ready for downloading in a week or two. In Korea no real phosphorous ordnance was used by the various aircraft involved, but diffrent forms of napalm, sometimes (as in the M47A2) mixed with a phosphorous primer. Real phosphorous ammunition ("explosive smoke") was used by artillery (mortars) and infantry (grenades).
Together with these ordnances the final Corsair mods include other new ordnances: AN-M81 260lbs fragmentation bombs, 100lbs GP bombs, the ATAR (6.6inch AP head - modified HVAR) and M26A1 bomb flare parachute, as used in Korea.

hello Irish,
Try the AAA effects platinum special edition 2009
package as I'm using that & the ord' effect which
I presume is included in such, :-? on impact gives off
a cloud & sparks effect near enough alike to
WP explosion.
The Swordfish WP rounds are merely flares,
good effect but not what your looking for

(Don't click for fun)http://deutsche.files.wordpress.com/2009...=400&h=278

Whoever invented that type of arms ignoring its effect on human beings should r*t in hell eternally.
Being a father myself (the pic probably shows a less affected medic) I couldn't help getting onto the verge of crying. Between weeks, days and hours of simulated arm-chair war this tiny glimpse at the impacts of WP should sent anyone into a state of dispair.

Go find dozens of suitable pics. The obvious antic of crying burnt bodies are showing migt be down to the last moment of asphyxiation. Whatever has children and babies suffer this sort of agony is completely beyond me.

Please, ask for flares and fireworks but never ever for WP.

Sorry for hurt feelings,

Pongie

Jesus Pongie, please remove the picture, it is very distressing.

Pongie, the game IL2 is 'a game', it is geared to be fun & represent history at whatever level you wish, when you bomb a tank or a village you are bombing A set of codings inside your pc......not humans!

In real life all weapons are killers & bringers of mass destruction, horrors that hopefully the vast majority will never know.

Take no offence

Ok, I'll remove the url tags so no one is urged to click on it by accident.

Yes, degrees in felt terror are a strange matter anyway. But there are weapons that should not be (WP might have been originally developed as a sort of ID tool).

However the first one to have said: "Hey lookidit, this stuff drills fire into humans all the way down to the bone, let's go force it!" must have been Satan himself. Why can't "inventors" like them go f*ckin' die before contributing to warfare like that.

I just stumbled across the matter when asking myself about a scene from the movie "Platoon" (You know when the radio operator cries out to his comrade for cutting a -think so- burning hot fragment out of his chest). Someone on the internet suggested it could be WP. And all I found out about WP has been pure horror.

Of course no hard feelings, SHVAK and not against the topic starter, but we had bamboo sprouts growing through living POW's IRL as well and no one is hoping for this to be modded in a war sim as well, or is there?

Sorry,
Pongie
