Looking forward to testing it again soon 8) (once I get il-2 working)

EDIT: It's a nice mod, but I personally find the cotton ball effect a bit too much. Is there anyway you can update this so that the smoke trails are more consitent?

This is really a very very nice little mod that adds greatly to the game's immersion quality. I was watching a film on the Battle of Britain last night - newsreel footage. And I think what I saw there when film of aerial combat was shown was very very close to what I see when using this mod. Well done. Its the "little" things that make the difference. I started playing IL-2 when it first came out, what 5(?) years ago and upgraded with every new version. But eventually I lost interest as I felt that the game was not immersive enough due to the fairly bland SFX sometimes used and low grade aircraft ound. No doubt for good reason (need to keep demands on then much more limited video cards etc. I recall in fact that when I played the first version of IL2 it was in a 16 meg video card. Now I am using 512 meg and much more advanced.) But that's another story - thank all you modders so much. I am enjoying this sim so much once more and this mod and others like it are the reason.

The ONLY mods I have are the ones that are included in UI 1.2 (and 1.1 of course). I installed this and I get nothing different that the original smoke from the cannons on the Spitfire. Is there something that came in the UI1.2 that I need to disable first? Thanks,

Sorry for my bad englisch. I can’t see the Effekt in the Game. I play the Addons “Wings over Waves” and “ROH”. Is this mod not for all airplanes? I have the Mod under IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Mod\000_Snk_3D_Smoke_Trail_V2 and I have a other Mod: Sturmovik_00_AAA_August_20_2009_Effects_Platinum_Special_Edition – this Mod is ok, but the Trail Smoke Mod I can’t see….

Try to search for next files in your "MODS" and "files" folders:
"SmokeA", "WhiteSmoke", "SmokeBlack_BuletteTrail", "SmokeATrail2"
and if you find it disable folder contains this file by putting "-" infront of folder name.

hmm... I wonder if the cotton ball effect could be counterbalanced somehow. Would it be possible to have both the 3d puffs of smoke and a 2d smoke trail at the same time, that might be the best option. That is how the engine smoke worked in IL-2 in the first place.

This will not run! Cry Arrrgh! I have deleted the Folder Effects in the Sturmovik Folder and I serch to „smoke“ but I have only the Mod inside. I starting JSGME.exe and activate the Mod but I can’t see the Effect. I test it with a Bf-109 and other…..

I dont know how or where you all put this mod, but done correctly it works and works well. UI 1.2, I dont have a clue but UP HSFX and SAS it works in the MODS folder or JSGME folder. So unless you know what mods conflict or load first/before this mod you will not see its effects. Try to resolve it before you post that it doesnt work, its only how your game is modded or not.
