ui 1.2 comment
#46

KG64v_Silentstrika , 409 is 100% better than 408, new maps, planes, objects, visually stunning. you go fly your 408 chap, we will fly 409 and have a better experience. as for the ui 1.2..........well, it has had a lot of work, time and effort to bring it to the community, it was never hailed as some kind of uber mods pack, i think that is where you have gone wrong. it is mainly designed so that the anti cheat has something to go on and so that people can install one big mod pack, from scratch, and have a fully working modded game without having to make lots of downloads, manual installs and additions to ini files. being greatfull to all that have made this possible would be a start Smile

Ps. correct me if i am wrong, but this is also an "addition" to the 1.1 version, so it is like a patch/add on.

This version, is not ment as an uber mods pack. The first version ended up as one. 4.09 is out of the picture for me. any graphical improvement and boom il2's crashed. By bland i meant that there's several p-51 variants, god knows how many variants of the spitfire (or is it hurricane, I can't remember) and several 109 variants. I was hoping that the aproaching ui 1.2 would hurry up some of the modders out there to finish their jets. My first post came off the wrong way. I am glad this is coming out, and that there's people out there working hard on this project, but it was somewhat dissapointing. I'm still dying to fly a b25 strafer. Arctic-CK would be nice, although it's probably not coming with this. Not sure how far along it is, but people have been sayinng it's nowhere near being done.

I dont get some of you guys...! The AAA team give us all these great mods and give new life to a dying simm. All for free by the way!! Oleg on the other hand takes 2+ years to throw us a few crumbs. A few planes most people never heard of and a few more that no one ever fly. Im happy with what the AAA team are providing in the next installer. I too would like to see the Jets though, but Im sure all in good time. I have faith in all the modders, they have all done a terrific job, and Im sure will continue to do so. Thanks to all of the creators for the GREAT work.........George Lieblein a.k.a. CPS_fraggmann

What a nonsense thread...

Some people must have a lot of spare time to post so "intellectual" things like this.

I know that a lot of work has gone into UI1.2, and I am really grateful for any modder who helps to keep IL-2 alive - and in a much better shape than originally invented.

So I think if one is satisfied with UI1.2 is the wrong question. Intention is a standard mod pack which do not affect fps too much, as I understand. This goal is achieved, of course. And thank You all for Your work, it's just great!

But that do not necessarily mean that it fits every personal need. For example: I only fly offline, I need no standard. But I want 6DOF. And a lot of other features which are to some extent covered by UI1.1.1 and additional mods I loaded. So I will stay with UI1.1.1 and hope that the Bf109 pack comes separately. With a real fast system, I prefer my already existing individual mod list, even if there are some mods in it with are a little bit buggy.

Next UI I will load will be the one which fits over 4.09m. I am very sure it will come sooner or later.

But that does in no way mean that I do not like the splendid work which went into UI1.2.

Well, KG64v_Silentstrika, if you think UI's bland, that's fine -- no one's forcing you to DL it. Sure, you're not so happy with the list, but i rather think there'll be a lot of people who are happy with the list. The spits are included because they were released a while back, in good time, to be included in UI1.2. If you dislike or don't want to use them, well, no problem mate, you can fly anything else you'd rather. You are free to ignore UI1.2, and wait for 1.3. You can stick to having 1.11 as well, if you so choose. Nae problemo, we'll provide as much help as we can, should you ask.

However, I'd ask you all to stop putting down something you've never tried, and also, stop poo-pooing it as it doesn't suit your tastes. I object to people's complaints on here as they are the same as the ones directed at 4.09m. Frankly, bashing these things because it doesn't fully appeal to you is, I think, one of the rudest things you can do, be it toward UI, 4.09, or any other free work. I think it must be crushing for some of the modders, to see their hard work and effort -- many months, maybe years in cases -- immediately dismissed as 'bland' and boring. Be a bit more open minded, and be greatful for the fact that anyone at all can be bothered to make this stuff and share it freely. I'm actually quite disappointed in some of the responses i've seen from people with regards to some of these free packs. I'd remind you again: if you do not like it, you are under no obligations to download it.

Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.

Yeah, that is exactly what I mean. The whole thread is aimed wrong, as everyone has his personal taste. You can't do it right for everyone.

Thunda Wrote:Apart from the views on the 4.09 extras, Im with Mysticpuma on this- what an idiotic thread.

You are getting offered something that has taken alot of blood sweat and tears, for free, and your complaining already.

We have an old saying about 'not looking a gift horse in the mouth'.

Get a grip.
I'm not at all down on the 4.09 really it's only comparative what the 1.2 has to offer against what is in the Official patch and the fact that people think that 1.2 has to be made to work with it or they'll just pout and stomp their feet like little children. How many nights I've listened to Monguse trying to work out the incessant bugs that come with making all the code work together and seeing all these comments about what some think is the most important thing needed. I understand the enthusiasm I just think that sometimes you have to put it in perspective.
The 4.09 is just as important to the people who worked on it, the finished Slovakia map is gorgeous, the water on the MTO map is breathtaking for an 8 year old sim and the aircraft that are included are well done and I'm sure they have their own fans. Heck I have been flying the Avia and the SM-79 myself and there are more things to come that I'm looking forward to as well but I'm in agreement with Mystic on this, it's appalling how easy it is to write on a forum and basically forget one's manners in a way most people would never do face to face.

I wonder how many 1.2 modded dogfight servers there will be? I can see the coop servers having these new treats added immediately.

@CPS.fraggmann

I was only referring to the aim of this thread. And excuse me that I'm not cheering about people who you offer your hand, but they want to rip your whole arm off, and then they aren't even satisfied with that. Period.

And yes, actually I wish if I had more time for IL-2 f.e. but let's not indulge in personalities any further.

Can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading here.. I shouldn't be suprised if the team just pulled the plug and started work on 1.3 instead..
