I remember some years ago , I think it was in the ace expension pack time periode , I was doing the campagne "luftwaff fighter in the south", original game campagne...
In one of the mission, I have to protect my leader in a stormy weather day ,flying a damage 109 in the cloud ,trying to fallow him without any radio com and a overheating engine.....
How can we do this kind of thing , if the original game can do it , why we can t ?
Anyway we can have this kind of problem?? like a mod who can do engine problem or anything else here and there...??

I remember in the original IL-2 that you would occasionally experience fouled plugs at startup and have to re-fly the mission after the "mechanics fixed the problem."

I think this is an excellent idea, having a engine problem every X number of hours or X number of missions. Say a drop in oil pressure, a bad sparkplug, magneto or a blown cylinder. Not always enough to put you in the slik, you could still limp home.
I'll give this a big +1

I think so, too. I don't remeber there being any problems with the aircraft's engine, just bad weather, gusty winds and plenty of clouds.

No , it was also explain in the mission description with a 109 E or F model and the bird truly overheating ,having hard time fallowing the leader...

Hm, that's interesting. I don't remember playing those missions. Would you be able to say where exactly you found them? Somewhere in the Aces Expansion Pack?

Thanks,

Alright, Von Waffen, I admit it. When I played campaigns on Aces Expansion pack, way back when, I played with the easiest difficulty setting. This means, everything, except "vulnerability" turned off. Therefore, I would likely not have noticed any such feature, which would probably only become apparent in anything close to "full real" settings; at least, one would have to enable "complex engine management" which I certainly didn't do at the time.
By the way, isn't this almost like a chat room? Kinda cool, isn't it?

Loll I watch my topic lollll....
I thing it s something set in the game mission , like when you fly in a desert map the engine overheat faster but it was worst....It was write in the brefing, the weather was truly bad , the leader keep flying in the clouds and we have to fight 2 russian plane I cannot even see them clearly , my leader get kill and I dont succefully protect him but I survive a land , just like you I was having some setting turned off ,like even if you not complet the mission you go to the next one , so i just do this mission once.....
