Map - update for ag_Dakar ver 1.1
#1

This is a virtually completely revamped version of an old map, ag_Dakar showing the area around the city of Dakar in present day Senegal, during WWII named French West Africa.

This revamped version has a new expanded actors.static. And while it is much larger than the first actors in total, the large concentration of objects in Dakar city has been greatly reduced. The city has also been placed in a more correct geographical location and an attempt has been made to model it just a tiny bit more correctly - however feeble such attempts turn out to be.

The textures have been changed, with new additional textures used and new texture zones created.

The 2 existing airfields have been totally replaced, one moved and 2 new airfields added.

The FMB maps have been changed to give a better visual effect.

Install notes are included including a list of which object packs are needed to use this map.

Aside from the object packs, all files needed to use this map are in the download package. There is no need for a previous version of this map.

I apparently made a mistake by originally using a set of renamed forest textures in the load.ini file, which meant that many users were unable to load the map. My apologies for this.

The download link above has been corrected and now contains a correct load.ini file.

For those of you who have already downloaded the whole install package, you may download the proper load.ini via this link.
Simply, download, unzip and place into your map ag_Dakar directory. Overwrite the older file.

Thank you Agracier for this new map, it seems really fine (I enjoyed the previous version). However, I've got this missing object: buildings.House$FurnitureTreeolive. I've searched for it here and on my HD but I can't find it. Any idea where it comes from ?
Anyway, thank you for this nice work !

Yes, it should be part of Fabianfreds Trees and Textures Mod, also sometimes called 'OBJECTS_ffb ... I think in some versions of his mod it is contained in the mod, but maybe not always.

I really couldn't help using that particular object, it just seemed so appropriate for the landscape.

Since it might one of those objects that are hard to find, here's a download link for the olive trees:

Hi, and congratulations for yet another outstanding improvement of your previous work. I seem to be facing a problem; cannot load the map (I get a load.ini error message). What I did was to remove the previous ag-Dakar map folder from my mapmods/maps and replace it with your latest. The lines to add in the all.ini were the same so I left them intact. I have all requirted objects, including FabianFred's trees textures and olive tree. Any clues as to a possible solution? Many thanks,

Hmmmm .... that's just the message on the bottom of the FMB screen.

If you hit shift+tab at the same time, you will get the console screen and with that screen a very long list of textlines. Somewhere near the bottom, you will see another ERROR message and this should give more info on what went wrong. Usually it is a missing or misplaced texture ...

And just a thought - in the new version, there are new textures to be added that were not used in the older version. In fact, aside from the new textures, as per AAA guidelines, the textures also follow a different path than in the previous version. So - are you certain that you added the _Tex folder as well?

It should be placed thus:

...MODS/mapmods/maps/_Tex/ag/Dakar

Here you are:
INTERNAL ERROR: Can't open file 'MAPS/Tex/Forest/summer/skwood0.tga'
INTERNAL ERROR: LoadTextureFromTga'MAPS/Tex/forest/summer/skwood0.
Tex folder is in proper place

Aha ... I am pretty certain that skwood was a standard texture for forests contained within the Slovakia map folders (an sfs file).

But if you are using 4.08 perhaps (?) it will not be included.

Here is an upload of those missing textures.

Unrar and then place in:
...MODS/mapmods/maps/_Tex/forest/summer ...

Remember this is for _Tex/FOREST/summer ....

Trying to get this one to work...it looks like you will need to have the Cartagena map first, as it looks like it shares one of the Spanish textures?

Here's the one I seem to be missing: SPAIN_TEX BROWN_120.tga

Good morning. I installed your skwood.tga files as instructed (Mapmods/MAPS/_Tex/forest/summer and I still get the same error message. I ran a 4.09m version of the game, all your other maps work fine. I noticed that in my Tex/forest/summer folder there are also dlv-skwood0-4 files besides the new ones that I added.
