hate to nit pick but the top pic is of an A-26 Invader. After WWII it was re-named the B-26 when the original B-26 Marauder was dropped from service. It still held the name Invader tho.

Also you can tell by comparing the foto and the profile, that they are not the same plane Tongue

Both of these aircraft would make a great addition to IL-2.

Always wondered why the Invader had to take on the B-26 designation. I understand it originally being the A-26 and the removal of the Marauder from service freeing up the designation... but it leads to a bit of confusion as to what aircraft someone is talking about when they say "B-26".

an interesting is that after WW2 the A-26 became B-26 (u'll find many vietnam era pics of them), just like the Mustang went from P-51 to F-51

Consider that effort well and truly "stalled".

prior to September 1947, the aerial warfare branch of the U.S. armed forces was a part of the U.S. Army and the WWII was fought by the U.S.A.A.F. (United States Army Air Force, which had took the place of the U.S.A.A.C. or United States Army Air Corp). Since that time, the mission code for some aircraft was modified. All figther-type airplanes changed the mission-code letter from P (Pursuit) to F (Fighter), in the same way the Navy air force was used to, so the Mustang becomes the F-51, the Shooting Star F-80 and so on.
The attack category (close support, light- and dive bombers), previously identified with the letter A, disappeared (at least for a while). In the post war period, the only aircraft of that type still in first line duty were the Intruders (A-26), the Marauders having been quickly declared obsolete and retired from the service, the A-26 becomes the B-26. There was no way to confuse with each other.

3 the will do to it

4 the program to do it

5 trying to get RL sorted out before i step back into this

I'd be happy to hear that you've changed your mind... the Marauder is a pretty important plane.

I do it every now and then but im under a lot of stress ATM ive started my final year and well there is a lot of work...ive got many decisions to make this year and next and really a plane for IL2 isn't very high ATM RL comes first and if you dont like it that i dont post any updates or well any updates at all dont worry. Also making a plane is very hard work if you can do better go for it.....

I appreciate you starting on the Marauder but, as you say, RL is the priority. You think school is hard... try having a baby. Smile My firstborn is the best thing that's ever happened to me but man, talk about hours being surgically removed from your day. Best of luck in your studies.
