Hi all,

somewhere I saw that the C-47 had been modified, so it had 3 guns in the side.

But is the mod downloadable for download?

From the thread you linked but didn't read:

LOL! Yes. something I whipped out a couple months ago after finishing all that modding for 4.1. Those mini-guns really spit out a lot of bullets and with the custom gun growl it's a hoot. Takes a bit of practice to get rounds consistantly on target but when you do it's pretty exciting. It's not nearly as devastating as one might think with the vehicle damage models being what they are. You can kill trucks with a good burst though.

As for making it available.....not sure just yet.

I made a request on this once before and have lots of information links etc but the community dissaproved but seemingly in the other topic you put a link to the community wanted it so bad because they saw someone made it and I think that is quite shameful. But I'm not bagging out anyone in particular but just the fact that if someone doesnt have it, you dont want it, but if someone does have it then you want it bad.

Anyway I ramble and argue too much so sorry.

The AC-47 I made was not created by anyones request. I didn't even know that other thread existed. I made it because I wanted to and to see if it would even work. As stated in that other thread, the small (7.62) caliber guns couldn't even destroy a truck from 2,500 feet up. I had to get a little creative , even with 40 and 60 rounds a second to kill trucks from 1,500 feet up. But it works.

As for requesting other planes from the 60's, what difference does it make what people request. When has any plane been made by request? You've seen how many requests are made every week. People scour books just to find a plane they haven't seen requested before just to be the first to post the request. Planes are only created by those that have the desire to make them. If someone is willing to put out the time and effort they can build whatever they want. Even an F4 Phantom.

I found out that from like a hundred metres or so of the ground you can destroy bunkers and stationary planes quite easy with the B-29 or b-17g doesnt really matter. and even tanks but they take a little while longer with the b-17 etc.

As for an F-4 phantom I doubt it because of its performance and weapons etc.

Personally I would love to see this in game, if someone wants it download it, if you don't want it then don't.......simple as that. As far as higher performance jets go, if someone works out that the game engine can handle it then I say go for it. on the other hand , if the engine can't handle it then obviously they can't be done.

I agree wholeheartly with Highlander. If is a matter of personal taste if you want to download any mod or not. The game engine has limitations concerning the maximum performance, that will never change. The visual model is just that - effectively eye candy only with different FMs. Lets not spoil the enjoyment of all members of the community by sticking to rigid dogma...

S~ You my friend, have earned a fan for life with this statement. For so long I have seen peeps come here and ask about a post WW2 plane, only to get the ole smug "This is a WW2 SIM!!" which is contradictory when there is a mod pack being worked on for WW1 and have in the end seemed to compromise to the extent with the Korean era. The big argument also, is the super sonic boundaries that many says is not possible in this sim, however, myself included, wouldn't really be bothered if the F-4 or the F-100 Super Sabre had around the same speed as todays jets in IL2 modland, it's more or less the thrill of seeing how detailed and creative a modder can be in creating the planes, not to mention the aspect of opening the door to even more campaign ideas. With the 4.10 update that team D is working on, with guided weapons, radio guided navigation, I am thinking it will be just a matter of time before the early "nam" age will be upon us. As for your Spooky BBury, congradulations, and i wouldn't mind having that plane myself, I can start working on early Vietnam battles with the C-47. BTW I was reading C Yeagers Bio and he mentioned that the F-100 Super Sabre was actually created in the early 50's along with prototypes of the Phantom...just a lil history I wanted to lay on yas....

The way I see it, if you can model an aircraft, best of luck to you! If people object, don't dl. Simples!

Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.
