You have a real talent for this, Redko. Stunning work.

Looks very nice, just a small detail which bothers me (and it happens on most maps): in your screenshots the color of the random trees is not fitting well the forest and ground textures, but that would be quite easy to fix...

without changing the colour of non "redko repainted" maps (i case some would like to keep the stock colour), how ? I use Avala's system of multiple trees layers for wood texture.

In a hurry but it's like this

In load.ini the random trees textures are given by the Tree0 for example:
Tree0 = Trees\AlteredBush8a.tga
If you extract with sfsextractor maps.sfs you get in maps/_tex/trees/ the following textures
AlteredBush8a.tga
AlteredBush8aTL.tga
AlteredBush8aTrunkTL.tga

Create your own which should have the name format

bla.tga
blaTL.tga
blaTrunkTL.tga

place them in something like

mods/mapmods/maps/_tex/trees/redko/

change the line in load.ini to

Tree0 = Trees/redko/bla.tga

Note that all 3 files are required.

It's not gonna affect any other map than yours.

You can find such tree new textures to download: AAA search Rus_Andrey trees for example
Also Neil_Lowe's Darvin map has his own custom trees.

Wow, this is progressing nicely!

Redko and crew, I am actively advertising this topic for everyone's sake. I really feel good about promoting this project. The things you do are rising in the rhelm of art. I saw the potential immediately and am so happy you guys are driving this project. This is really a fantasy come true for many.

The Pacific will now get the attention that it deserves. The whole theatre is beautiful. Yes, I must add that Japan is especially a beautiful country.

Thank you soooo much!

Great work Redko 8)

I would not be surprised if sometime you get an inquiry from a game dev to see if you are available as a texture artist Confusedhock: Big Grin

you are not too far...my pseudo redko is inspired from the painter M.Rothko, member of the New York School, with Pollock and others. i'm fan of the 3 orther guys you mentionned too...was my subject at school of art :wink: .

thanks all the people for the good feedbacks :wink:. Map is finished. Just need to solve the problem of squared corals textures and make some tests with differents set of coral textures to find the good one.

200% agree. It was time. Stock map for PTO are a disaster. We are lucky to have mapmakers doing really good new maps for japan and all the sector.
