He-100
#1

Hi all,

Here is my first download. This is a skin for the Ki-61-I-Ko. The skin is based on the He-100, "White Five" defending the Heinkel factory. Hope you like it. Big Grin Just drop it in your Ki-61-I-Ko skin folder.

As you said it was your first download, I didn't expect much....specially that I am not a big fan of hacks and some people upload skins that I would not dare to upload myself

But then I downloaded and took a look at your skin Confusedhock: Confusedhock: Man, I wish I've done it, quite good stuff. Eventhough you used a single colour, it doesn't look flat Smile . I can tell it will look awesome on the plane. Lovely job with the smoking moon noseart too! I hope you'll keep working on skins and this is just the start, cause I am hooked.

EDIT: Here comes a screenshot  [Image: 2003201018-37-43.jpg]

Too bad the mapping of soo many planes reverse the hackencross.

Nice skin liamp51. If I can offer an improvement...

When Jester did this hack several years ago, he was able to avoid the reversed (mirrored) Swastika in the starboard view. Yes, his Swastika was on the vertical fin, not the rudder where it should be, probably because he discovered it will mirror incorrectly to the other side. I was able to move it to the rudder, but it mirrored, as expected. I forgot how to do snips in Vista so I can't post a screen, but here is Jesters original screen...

EDIT: OK, I remember how I fixed it now. If you place the lefthand Swastika on the left view rudder (shown in lower right, below), it will indeed mirror to the starboard side in reverse, as you have currently on your skin. However, I found that if you add a correct Swastika to the upper right corner of the skin as shown below, it will ignore the mirroring and then appear correctly on both sides... HTH...

Thanks for all the positive replies guys! And thank you very much MB-BOB! I forgot that when I did the skin, I had to flip the swasticka, but I didn't realize that it was wrong when creating the skin. I will be releasing a P-47D-10 skin in the next day or two also. Thanks for all the help!

Where can Jesters mod be found? I can't find it at Missions4today.

Jesters uploaded it to Flying Legends, but I can't find that site anymore.

Thanks for the new link, tater. Obviously, I don't follow these like I used to.

OK, so I found the Jesters-Ink full hack skin. It is at... http://downloads.flightsimfiles.com/package/626

As noted above, Jesters skins are based on documented photos of these He100-D1 aircraft... http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/LRG/he100.html

While the photos in this link show the Swastikas on the rudder, Jesters Ink's versions have the Swastika on the vertical fin. They also do not sport the fictitious HE113 night fighter unit insignia (pipe-smoking moon) as the fictional propaganda unit did, but do have the lightning bolt markings on the engine cowling. If you want to move the Swastika to the rudder, you'll need to have a paint program and make the changes I found above, and add the various additional unit markings if desired.

Sorry if this hijacks your thread, liamp51. Your skin is nice, too, and already depicts the "He113" version.
