Would anyone like to do some Viet Minh skins?
The viet minh did not have an air force... But if they did... what would they look like?
I would think a Vietnam War era N.Vietnamese air force national symbol would be used.
All green or camo topsides on Soviet WW2 leftover planes much like those in North Korea.

Fictional battles for Viet Minh vs. French is what I'm planning on.

Hi Texan,

I would think leftover Japanese aircraft (from the occupation), or early war French planes (pre-Japanese occupation) might perhaps be more fitting. Especially if you are going for a semi-historical feel. Just my two cents.

AFAIK, Vietminh did have aircrafts, they were 2 trainers purchased privately by the former Emperor Bao Dai before the war. One of them was a de Havilland Tiger Moth (which we have in game) and the another a Morane-Saulnier. The first flight was made by a former Luftwaffe pilot who fought in Legions army and turned side to Viet Minh (I forgot his name). He took the Tiger Moth in the air but had to belly land because of technical defects.
About the paint scheme, don't expect to see exotic paintings and decorations. :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
It would be very nice to have some fictional skins of VPAF, but I would rather have some realistic skins of MiG-17 and a "skin hack" of T-6 Texan simulating the T-28 Trojan, the very first aircraft to score victory for VPAF

Hi Archie,

Well, the Viet-Mhin flag was a yellow, five-pointed star on a red banner. I would think a yellow, five-pointed star with a red outline would look good. Also the apperance of a hasty paint job to cover up old insignias (French, Japanese).

I like the stars, that's interesting.
I'll take anything. The idea is to use anything they could get their hands on. I'm thinking about a what if Vietnam was like Korea in the '50s when the N. Koreans had old Soviet planes. La-7, Yak-3, Il-10 and JAAF planes are good too.

The French, on the other hand, had P-63, F6F, F4U, A-26, F8F (if we can ever get that one it would be perfect).

What does everyone think about making this the official AAA insignia for the Viet Minh?
US_Grant, would you mind using this too? Yours looks nice but needs more red IMHO.

Now can you put this on the Soviet planes listed above? And anything else you might want to do?

That kind of stars on the flags to me when the Viet Minh, so the Japanese isignie paint only this star, and characters french only rub red and yellow star of a normal five-pointed star I've ever found. I'll make you a skin. But if you do not mind off this week so far in respect of
