To put it into context, one of the policies of this website is to promote the staying on topic as declared by Administrator Deutschmark in this Announcement:

In harmony with the above to ensure staying on topic, I urge everyone:
1) Avoid unnecessary criticism of other members, especially steering the conversation off topic.
2) Refrain from defending yourself when it is clear that it will keep dragging the discussion off topic.
3) Keep issues from the past in the past, not spilling into a current topic.
Many people do not seem to realize that they are often going off topic to take the above stances. At that point, it becomes a never ending cycle which will at the very least result in the topic being locked.
Be fair to everyone.
