If you say about the structure with the floats and no wings it was the Beriev Bartini VVA-14

My earlier post: "Can you guess what this is ?" gone with Spray and Pray !!! Sad

This beast was intended to be a VTOL Amphibian Anti-Submarine platform.
The extra engines for VTOL were never installed. Early model featured inflatable retractable pontoons that took ages to design, only to be discarded
as they generated to much drag. Work proceeded with floats, but much too late.

Truely bizarre....one of the most unique aircraft I've seen in ages. Thanks for sharing mate!

Honestly, it reminds me of the the TV shows Doctor Who and Space:1999...how very retro-modern...lol :wink: Amazing links and info everybody...well done!
