summer objects to winter objects?

Is there a program or shortcut to converting the objects on a summer map into winter objects for a winter map?

What? When you use a winter map most objects are for Winter.
What do you really mean ??
When you place an object on a winter map most will be for winter.

Camels dont count.

I am populating a summer map, but I intend to make a winter map as well for the same area. In fact, I already have the load.ini for the winter map done and have flown on the winter map.

When I populate the summer map, I would like to be able to convert the airfields, villages, towns, etc. to the winter map without having to populate the latter map from scratch.

Is there a program that allows me to take the actors.static from the summer map and convert the objects therein into their winter counterparts and thus produce a ready-made actors.static for the winter map?

If I knew the structure of the actors.static file I could whip one together in a jiffy ... alas, uptil now I have only been able to decipher parts of the actors.static.

Anybody in the know? PM me plz if it's such a "Big Secret".

Currently you could use the actors.static tools that exist and modify the resulting outBuildings.txt file (contains all objects in an actors.static) and then reassemble after renaming all outxxx.txt files to inxxx.txt

What Redwulf says..
Extract with actors tool. Then take outBuildings.txt and with "find and replace" replace the names of the summer types with the names of winter types for types which have winter and summer models, for example a line like

65167_bld House$CrimeaHouse1 1 82339.04 118910.88 315.00

goes into

65167_bld House$CrimeaHouse1W 1 82339.04 118910.88 315.00

Most of objects which have winter variants have names distinguished by the "W"

CrimeaHouse1
CrimeaHouse1W

Some objects have NO winter variants, like the Slovakia ones etc

After done all replacement "create" the new actors with actor tool...

I'll have to check out the actors tool application and see if I can figure it out as Step #1. Smile

The tool do exist and the version 1.1 that I have was made by Porsimo (copyright 2006 by Petri Johansson, http://wwww.kolumbus.fi/porsimo/fb) and its name is Season Converter, I could guess, without being sure that mission4today may have it.

I have it in my Hard disk, and if someone tells me if i am authorized and how to upload it to this site, I really would like to be of help.
