Me and Planemad who im sure you already know have been trying to get skins for IL-2 CoD working. I can tell you now it took a while for us to figure this out but we finally got it.

This is the finished result, all credit goes to Planemad for designing it.

if anyone wants to know how to do this you have to create the skin and paste it in both
C:\Users\*******\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\PaintSchemes\Skins

---and---

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\PaintSchemes\Skins

thanks to Planemad for this help and I hope we can have many great skins in the future

oh by the way the same can be done with ground object such as cars, tanks, static planes etc.

just as a side note me and Planemad will be uploading extra skins in the future however i am only a rookie skinner so mine will start of average but i am learning from one of the great. we hope you like these and feel free to go on and make your own, its what tis game was made for, unlimited customisations

How do these new skins go down with STEAM? Wouldn't it detect it as a cheat? (I hope not) If so, it won't warn you, just freeze your account, and ability to play multiplayer.

technically its not a cheat. anyone can does this and it gives you no other advantage than looking better thna the other guy, a cheat is something that enhances the way you play giving you an advantage over everyone else. this does not give you an advantage at all that is why i dont think steam will mind
