I've been looking into this already. It is possible, but it is a difficult task unless a way can be found to actually open the TGA's that it is skinned with. You can replace the stock ones now, although if you don't know the size or mapping of the originals, it is an enormous task. Added to this, the 109 series share many tga's amongst them. If you do one variant, you probably need to do them all.

What we need is a little help from the people who made this sim. Releasing things like cockpit skin textures will do a lot for the life of the sim.. They can keep the FM/DM locked up.

Early days yet though, the amount of talented people coming in here everyday means it should see a breakthrough before long.
