1. You spelled it right.
2. Paratroopers carried reserve parachute vhen they jumped from some height which allowed to open it after main parachute failiure :wink:
3. Pilots always wear reserve parachute and sit into the main one...

Only if you were in the US forces.. Reserve chutes were not generic to all service personel of differeing countries.. For example, British Airborne personel did not jump with a reserve parachute until well after WWII.
