Thanks a lot, Willy and Slow!
Sharp and clean... Well, these were all before I got 1946 and I THINK that 1946 is even better! Maybe I'm kidding myself but it seems that way.
I make the captures at 1280 x 960, Willy. That helps a lot! I save them in png file format. It makes for a much larger file BUT the quality is much better. Less compressed than jpg.
The max posting size here is 1024 x 768 and the max they like you to post with a free Photobucket account is 500 MB. So, I usually end up resizing down and converting to jpg. Sometimes I have to sharpen after that or use "Unsharp Mask". At any rate, the quality of what you see posted is nothing like the quality of a 1280 x960 png file! hock:
As far as antialiasing, Willy, I alway use the max. In this case it is "8xS". The "S" means more quality with less of a hit on frame rates.
Hardware:
AMD Sempron 2800+
Nvidia GeForce 6800 GS
Asus K8N MOBO
1 GB RAM
I had an ATI Radeon X800XL, which was even better, but it died after a year!
There are lots of tricks to buying hardware, Willy. Often, less expensive, older stuff gives better results than the current "top of the line" stuff. You can see that my rig is quite modest and uses older components. It cooks though! No overclocking at all. Gotta do a LOT of homework though to get the scoop!
Sorry, Willy. I don't have it bigger. I have it the same size in png, which is a little better quality, BUT it's a much larger file size.
Don't forget to post more of your images when you get a chance. It's nice to see fresh, unique work! :!:
Take a look at Mike's new posts while you're here, especially "Thunder". I'm sure he would like to hear your comments.
Thanks again for the kind words.
