Thank you very much, Batz. I have strong feelings for BoB pilots and for the humble Hurricane which largely won the day. That victory was an astonishing feat and, IMHO, it was what really brought about the ultimate defeat of the Nazis. Those brave lads, in their Spits and Hurris, paid a heavy price, not only in deaths, but many were seriously burned as well. Some of those fellows are still receiving treatment today. God bless them!
Yes, Batz, I do know which airfield. It's Fearn, in Scotland, I believe, which was home to Hurris and Liberators.
It saddens me to see that so many of these sites, which, IMHO, should be shrines, are being left to rot away. Eventually they become part of "agribusiness" or are built over by developers. Shame on us! Shame on all of us!
