I have a situation where in order to get a certain gunsight I needed to use a [body] mesh which calls for a large number of files that I don"t want.

The result is that I have a bunch of mat files that are not wanted but need to be in my mod as place markers. I can render the unwanted parts invisible, but if they could be eliminated that would be better.

When I try to remove file name the mesh doesn't work anymore. If I were to remove the file name AND the 3D coding would it work?

i have been using a hex editor to create a fair few of the mods here for some time. using a hex editor you can easily modify or change the name of the file the mesh asks for & then create a the new file - this helps when you are creating new gun positions & you dont want it to conflict with another when you are sharing files with another gun position. Its hard for me to explain but i recomend you download a free simple hex editor & maybe play around with the files for il2
