so, let me get this straight - if i have 2 different static.ini's, or any of the other stationary/ships/etc ini files, how would it be gaurunteed to work?
Q: If the ini file has entries which are not used,or necessary, would it still work?
If the ini file is missing needed entries, it won't work- this much, I think we know.
I've had many issues with mod compatibility recently, and most of them seem to involve the relevant ini file. I've been using Winmerge, with mixed results. Sometimes, by copying lines which are missing in one ini to another, fixes the problem. Sometimes it doesn't.
If it is a case of the ini file having 'unused' entries, would that cause the game to crash/not save/whatever?
If not, and the ini file will work with 'unused' entries, then it shouldn't be too difficult, via Winmerge, or such like, to ensure that the ini file has every possible entry?
That last beer after work is also kicking in... 8), so I'm off to fly the new Channel map...
