Not getting the FPS I should
#5

Joe I use the Nvidea 8800.
Try this;
Download and copy/paste one of the new .dll sets you can find here at the site. Make a backup of the files already in your Il2 folder just in case.
After doing that, go to your Il2 setup.exe in your game folder and click on it. Under video, select the line for your card rather than custom. This will turn all of your graphics settings over to Nvidea control panel.
Set whatever AA and Aniso etc., you want to try in control panel, select none for Force Mipmaps.
In you game's config.ini , try setting VideoSetup to =3. This is the number you want for nvidea cards.
Land geometry should be 3 to get better view distance.
Try water=2. Water is the biggest FPS hog of all, I get much better frames with it on 2 and I think it looks pretty nice- see what you think.
What kind of monitor are you using? If it's a CRT, you may need to use a program like refreshforce to set your refresh rate so that it does'nt default to 60.
If your monitor supports a lower resolution as a Native Resolution, you may want to consider running at a lower res.
My monitor ( a Viewsonic VA 902) supports both 1280x1024 and 1024x768 as native resolutions and I get much higher FPS running at 1024x768 with 16x AA and aniso because of the higher refresh rate. (My monitor is an LCD but it uses an Analog connection).
It can take a lot of experimenting to get the most from your new rig- best of luck to you!
