I have tried the SFX suggestion, and I do have sound afterwards, but it is all the old stock engine sounds that are horrible. Reverting back, puts me right where I came from.
The problem for me seems to be with all the American aircraft engine sounds.
I love the sound mod so much that I put up with all these aircraft without any engine sounds at all, but man what I would do to get these working!!

Many of the mods are made for a speciffic "sound mod" so they are working corect for a certain version of the sounds. If you look carefully in the list of mods you'll see in some of them more then one download link, depending on what sound version you use (SM 9.0, SM9.01, SM, 9.03 or SFX 0.6) Now if you later change the sound mod of your game some ofthe mods you already have installed are not compatible anymore. If you looked in the sounds folder of sound mod 9.03 and SFX 6.0 for example you'll see that many files are named differently.
Here is where the problems come from. You have to check every mod you downloaded and see what sound mod it requires to work properly.
