Wouldn't this be a great idea: All the mapmakers come together and exchange all their knowledge, enthusiasm, ideas and energy. Then for a certain period they all work together in developing highly detailed and realistic maps that cover the whole world.
But that's an insane wish...

Brilliant idea.

We really need a knowledge base which will guide people through the map building process. The way it is right now, having to dig through dozens of threads to eventually stumble up on something useful is really not encouraging at all.

I for example, with the Bay of Biscay map, struggle to get the basics done, for the simple reason that there is no decent source that can guide you through the process. If I would have the time to spent hours searching the forums I might find what I need, but this can't be the way to handle this.

So please, can the map building experts come together and produce a knowledge base for us newcomers.
