Very nice start indeed! Some good advices: Disable all the text on the screen, no radio messages, no "throttle60%", etc...the shots will look better. Also, I suggest you to play around with FOV settings in external view. Larger FOV means more background, but more distortion of the aircraft, kinda "fish eye" effect. I prefer to use very small FOV on my pictures.
As someone said it above, download some photo editing program, I started with infranview. There you can adjust the color settings (brightness, contrast, gamma, saturation) And don't forget about the easiest editing: cropping. Just cut off the parts of your screenshots which you don't "need".
