I have a book that talks about this, It was designed to strafe German troops in the event of German landings on england. It apparently was very maneuverable, but was canceled as the threat diminished.

It is very strange that there are several mentions that it was intended to straff troops and barges (probably the fear of impending invasion),
while other sources claim it was intended for a night fighter role... But I think this night fighter idea is wrong, and refers to an earlier attempt
to fit a Boulton Paul turret in place of the observer seat of a Lysander, called P-8 ... I should think. 8)

The cover photo on this book could be just a flying model plane though...
its the one I don't find convincing, ...but I could be wrong... hock: Do you see a real pilot ???
