Provided you have patched up to 4.08m (m denotes merged not mod). You can proceed to install the AAA Unified installer as it includes all of the required 4.09b1m files. The "UF" (Unified installer) also includes all of the new flyables with the exception of any added aircraft which was developed after the Uf was released (Tempest, Spit bombers ..., new maps ... etc)
Hence, you do not need to install anything else other than the Unified installer.
What I would do in your circumstances prior to re-installing the Unified Installer is to follow the steps below.
If you have a clean install of 4.08m (DVD) then...
Step A:
Install the Unified installer:
Make sure all 4 files are are contained in the same folder then run the exe file. It is the exe file that will install its own files as well as load the other rar files and extract them as required during the installation. Just to clarify, the downloaded rar files are used by the exe and are not required to be extracted by the user.
If you have previously installed the Unified installer or a different mod pack from another site then...
1. Delete your files folder if you have one.
2. Delete your mods folder.
3. Then proceed as if you have a clean install of 4.08m (Step A above)
Explaining the m in 4.08m or 4.09b1m
When Il2 first came out there was no such thing as m (merged) only when PF (Pacific Fighters) came out did the idea of merged come into play. The reason for the m came because those that had the original Il2 had the option to Merge PF with their Il2 game. Now, 4.09b1m denotes Version 4.09 Beta One Merged. The reason for Beta is because last year around this time Oleg released the contents of 4.09 as a public beta.
Now about the switcher included in the Unified installer. The Switcher requires .Net Framework 2 to work. If you don't have framework 2 installed then you can use the handy bat (batch files) to switch to and from the version you wish to use.
Also, the switcher (Il2VersionSwitcher.exe) included in the unified installer is a much newer user interface than was was posted a long long time ago here in the forums before the unified installer was developed.
So in short, you need not download or anything else other that the Unified installer.
I hope this helped.
