I am WAAAY out of my league here, being a mere FMB-addict, not knowing anything about how you do aircraft, but as I've seen others shooting off their requests and/or ideas about new aircraft to add to the game, I might as well have a go.

There is only one operational Japanese Army Airforce single-engined Fighter really missing from this game, and that's of course the Nakajima Ki-44 "Shoki", designed as a heavy fighter to be used mainly as an interceptor of heavy bombers. It was used in that role, not least against the B-29.

Anyway, wouldn't it be possible to somehow use, rebuild, re-engineer and/or replace one of the five Ki-43's in the game? (Preferably the Ki-43 Ia as it was never used in action, only being a sort of pre-production model.)

They are similiar but only in a superficial way, but their FM's (and armament!) were of course quite different, the Ki-44 being a fast hard-hitter where the Ki-43 was a nimble dog-fighter. I don't know. Perhaps it simply doesn't work this way :?

Just a wild idea.
