Well, you'll notice that the mods you download on this site are in the format /il2 directory/MODS/some dir/some scrambled filename
go to your mods directory and have a look through it!
The files originally posted in this thread werent hashed (or "scrambled up"), so I'm assuming that the wrapper or whatever causes the game to look at the modded java classes didnt know how to deal with them.
It's kind of technical, but if you're using the files originally posted by kowi, and you're not getting any crashes, it's unlikely that the game is recognizing them because if you take those same files and put them in the proper format, your game crashes. In particular, it's one class, the "maneuver.class" that causes this. The links I posted include the 3.04 files in the proper format with the exception of that class. There should be a difference in ai with these files, because as mentioned, the ai pilot.class is different between the two, and that appears to be a significant file in determining the behaviour of the ai.
