de Havilland Vampire?

please Please PLEASE!!!

I saw an excellent doco on early Jets on The History Channel and one thing I noticed was that they said the Brits could have had the Vampire combat deployed in WWII but the MoD gave it such a very low priority that it prevented this happening, plus it didnt help that the poms shipped the only engines for the Vampire at the time to the US for sharing. This prevented it flying before the Meteor. The RAF never likes to admit mistakes, but one thing is known by the people who flew both the Vampire and the Meteor is that the RAF had the roles arse about, the Vamp should have been used as the interceptor and the Meteor in the ground attack role. The RAAF had great success with the Meteor in the G/A role in the Korean War once it was obvious it was outclassed by the Mig15.
