If you got Windows XP try going into your control panel and look for "Sound and Audio Devices".
Click on it and once its loaded click on the "Audio" tab.
You should now see these playback options;
* Sound playback
* Sound recording
* MIDI music playback
Now click on "Sound playback" drop down menu and then select what ever your USB headset is called.
Do the same for "Sound recording" if you have a microphone on your headset.
Once you made changes click "Apply" and to undo changes do as above again but select your sound card instead of your headset.
