Hey Handy.
I just got an x52 as well, I'm glad you are as happy with it as i am. You need to install the drivers for the mouse stick to work, they came with the SST software on a disk with the stick - they should be available from the Saitek Website.
Also, I would highly recommend 'Il2 joy control' which you can find at mission4today, it is a small program which allows you to adjust the input from alll the different axis on a joystick.
