Hi all:
Cujo_1970 put me onto this in another thread.
Something that I feel has been missing for a long time now is the "detritus of war". War produces an incredible amount of trash, waste, junk, scrap, whatever name you want to call it. Up to now our landscape has been most pristine until after the bombers get through with the attack. Look at an air base and you'll see all sorts of bits and pieces lying around. Granted, most of the stuff was pushed to central dumping places but still, it was not the age of enlightenment vis-a-vis environmental cleanup.
So, with this in mind, I put together a test static.ini file where I changed all the objects to their damaged/dead state. I then went through all the objects to see what was what. Well! Some of these objects have great damage models. Granted, not everything has damage models but there is more than enough to have fun with.
I took a few I liked and placed them together to see the effect. I feel I haven't scatched the surface yet with what can be done with what there is, but for now I'm liking the results.
I'd take some screen shots to show you, but I don't know how to get them to show up here. If anyone is interested let me know how and I'll post a couple.
Now, if there was only some way to get wrecked planes as objects (the dummy planes don't cut it)...
Great days all.
