Hello,
Your sample sound is ok, but the "ambiance" after the impact is a bit too long I think. What if you get hit simultaneously by different bullets? The sounds would overlap and that would be confusing to the human hear I believe...
Maybe you should add some echo to the initial bullet impact and shorten the aftermath sound a little so as to be more realistic.
Also, maybe an idea would be to change the bullet impact sound depending on the localization of the impact on the plane: let me explain quickly: if your BF-109G gets hit on the right wing, then you (the pilot) will hear the bullet impact on the right speaker . Same thing for the left wing.
But if shot under the fuselage, then the sound would come from where?(maybe soften the sound a little bit, because there is more metal between the pilot and under the fuselage than through the window...)
I'm no expert un acoustic, but I believe it would be quite easy with Audacity or another audio editing program to add "sound localization" in Sturmovik..
Last, has anybody thought about adding nature and climate sounds during takeoff and landing such as wind sound (turbulences, thunder, etc) or tree branches sounds and other sounds from the natural world? That would be a great immersion..
Good dau.
Good day
