I recently saw the F-84 on "Great Planes" series and they stated that over 60% of all the ground attack missions were flown by F-84s. Only a few were actually shot down by Migs and the F-84s shot down a few Migs too, however, over 200 were shot down by ground fire.

Therefore if we really want to do the Korean War justice a straight winged F-84 would be appropriate.
