For anyone new to flying sims, they will need to spend $100 to $300 in flight gear (joystick and etc..) and so these kids will need parents that spend a few $$$ or they will be older and have disposable income,, and then what you said int he quote.. about people that already fly buying it..

They'll release it when all the soccer mums are looking for games to buy their kid for christmas. It doesn't matter whether we want it now or whether it is actually ready for release - it's about maximising profits on release.Yeas.. but i dont think that there're will be soooooooooo many new people that will buy it. that game is meant to be for person, like us, that love to fly the real way.... Others will take, for exemple, the new HAWX or an other arcade game.
If they released the game in Q2 2009 as cited by IGN, the game would have been moved from the "new releases" shelf to the abandoned "sports/racing/flying" section with very little exposure to customers who might purchase it because it has a pretty picture on it.
Guys who have been flying IL-2 for all these years belong to the group that don't need advertising to, and will purchase the game regardless of when it is put on the shelves. But Joe Public who has only ever heard about these mystical 'flight simulators' will only be looking at what's in front of him - a pretty box on the 'new releases' shelf.
But it's just my 2cents
