If you have the UI 1.1 you already have the mod for TAS on the speedbar.
Just add the following lines to your conf.ini file:
[Mods]
SpeedbarTAS=1
SpeedbarUnits=2
SpeedbarSpdKMH=1
SpeedbarSpdMPH=1
SpeedbarSpdKnots=1
SpeedbarAltMeters=1
SpeedbarAltFeet=1
HUDGauges=3
