Why should I set it on the lowest values, except for specular=1?

Don't do it. You don't need it.

That advice is for ppl who only cares performance (over all). If you are interested in getting nice aspect, graphics enhancement and inmmersion, you need to find out a equilibrated performance/graphics ratio.

It was ment more for a starting point and to know what each setting in the cfg was for it is a low end card as to what we have know in the game but has improved my online game a lot but each setup needs to be for the player and what he likes ...good luck and happy flying
